The greatest racing motorist of the time J.G. Parry Thomas in his famous Leyland Thomas. This car was one of the most successful ever to run at Brooklands and in 1925 set the lap record to 129.36 m.p.h. An unofficial duel took place with the Eldridge Fiat Mephistopheles for £500 at a 1925 Kent MC Meeting. The Leyland Thomas won after three hectic laps.

21 714 cc Track and Record Car Mephistopheles began its long and famous career in 1908. The car was built for Sir George Abercromby who frequently raced at 58 H.P. Fiat at Brooklands. The car in this form had virtually no body and an engine of 18 155 c.c. After the first war the car was purchased by J. Duff who fitted a stream line body of the times again racing at Brooklands. The famous driver E.D.A. Eldridge then purchased the car for £25 and replaced the worn out engine with a Fiat A-12 Bis Aero engine. In this guide with a lengthened chassis the car provided many exciting races at Brooklands. In 1924 the land speed record was taken for the last time on a public road just outside Paris. The speed achieved being 143.01 mph. The car survives today but is now in its last livery of bright red.

"Chitty Bang Bang" was built by perhaps the best known amateur racing driver of his time Count Zborowski who lived in Higham Estate near Canterbury in Kent. Chitty was the first amateur aero-engined machine to achieve great fame at Brooklands. The Maybach Gotha Bomber engine was obtained from the WW1 Disposals Board and shoe-horned into a pre 1914 Mercedes chassis which had to be lengthened. First appearing at the Easter meeting in 1921 with a four seat body Chitty was very successful. By Whitsun a racing body had been fitted which the Milestone Model depicts.

Lap Record Holder 1932 to 1934 The 1932 version of this famous car was the zenith of its performance. During the preceding years many alterations had been made to its body and engine. Dry sump lubrication had been fitted which cured many of the problems experienced with Blower Bentley's. The large oil pump and leads can be clearly seen in front of the blower. The car held the lap record at Brooklands from 1932 to 1934 at 137.96 mph driven by Birkin.

This is a stunning model of the Bentley 4.1/4 LT was used by the great record breaker as his personnel road transport in the early to mid 1930's. It was frequently seen about Brooklands as much of the work on Sir Malcolm Record cars was undertaken at Brooklands. The colour was the same as the Record cars.

The construction of the Napier-Railton commenced in 1932. John Cobb the cars owner spent many hours at the Thompson and Taylor factory at Brooklands where the car was built. Using a 24 litre Napier Lion aero engine gave enormous power at relatively few revs. In mid 1933 the car won its maiden race despite a heavy time handicap. The ultimate Brooklands lap record was captured in October 1935 at 143.44mph. The track was damp and the stress on the tyres gave them a life of only 2 laps. The feat of capturing the record stands as a monument to the courage and skill of John Cobb "Honest John" to his friends.

The KN Vauxhall racing car gained its “KN” name from being very quick and hot stuff, hence being named after Cayenne pepper.
The single seat body often changed slightly from event to event. The bodywork was exceptionally slim the radiator opening at the front only measured 16x2.5 inches. The KN was the first car of 20HP to achieve 100 MPH over a flying kilometre. Often driven by A. J.Handcock and Percy Kidner.

Louis Coatalen put this famous Sunbeam in hand in 1919. It was powered by a "Manitou" aero engine as used by Coastal patrol seaplanes of the RNAS. The Sunbeam held many track and land speed records. Being sold to Malcolm Campbell in 1923.
