Aussie Invader 5R
Rosco McGlashan broke the Australian Land Speed Record in 1994 in his jet powered Aussie Invader 2. He has been obsessed with the LSR ever since. Two years later in his next car, he ran a one way pass exceeding Richard Noble's record of 633 mph, but wrote the car off on a bad return run. Now, along with a team of fellow enthusiasts in Perth - Western Australia, he is building Aussie Invader 5,
a 16 metre, rocket powered car designed to take Andy Green's 763 mph Mach 1 record set in 1997. The car is being built to achieve a design speed of 1000 mph.
Rosco is also racing to beat Richard Noble's Bloodhound, currently being built in the UK which also has a 1000 mph objective.
As LSR freaks ourselves, we couldn't resist asking Rosco to let us model his cars. He said yes and the first one we will be putting out will be the Aussie Invader 5 which should be ready for sale within the next few months.

We like the unusual and we love Land Speed Record cars, so when we got the chance to model Richard Jenkins' beautiful “car” we just had to do it. It's got wheels - but other than that it's a cross between a land yacht and a plane with a lot of lightweight technology.
His next Project runs on “ice skates”. Given the right conditions it should go faster still…
